Job Summary:
The National Sales Director leads the agency’s revenue growth strategy, driving new business acquisition, expanding existing client relationships, and achieving ambitious sales targets nationwide. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive position manages a high-performing sales function, crafts compelling pitches for reputation and crisis services, and positions ADI Global Partners as the go-to partner for C-suite executives facing complex communications challenges. The role combines strategic vision, hands-on selling, team leadership, and deep industry insight in a remote-friendly, results-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy to acquire new high-profile clients and grow revenue across key verticals (corporate, entertainment, sports, healthcare, finance, technology, etc.).
- Lead full-cycle business development: identify prospects, qualify opportunities, deliver persuasive pitches, negotiate contracts, and close deals for strategic communications, reputation management, and crisis advisory services.
- Build and mentor a scalable sales team (internal and/or outsourced), setting quotas, tracking performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Serve as a senior spokesperson for the agency, cultivating relationships with C-level decision-makers, influencers, and referral sources through targeted outreach, networking, events, and thought leadership.
- Create and refine compelling sales collateral, proposals, scopes of work, pricing models, and case studies that showcase ADI’s expertise and ROI.
- Partner closely with account services, strategy, and creative teams to ensure seamless handoffs, client satisfaction, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging reputation risks to inform sales positioning and uncover new revenue streams.
- Forecast revenue, manage the sales pipeline, track key metrics (win rate, average deal size, sales cycle), and report progress to executive leadership.
- Travel as needed (estimated 30–50%) for client meetings, industry conferences, prospect visits, and team alignment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role (e.g., Director/VP of Sales) in professional services, PR, advertising, marketing agencies, or consulting.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding multimillion-dollar revenue targets and building high-performing sales organizations.
- Deep understanding of public relations, reputation management, crisis communications, and corporate advisory services; ability to speak credibly to C-suite executives about reputation risk and strategic communications value.
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with demonstrated success closing complex, high-value deals.
- Strong strategic thinker with data-driven approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), sales enablement tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- High energy, resilience, and comfort in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Existing network of C-level contacts in target industries or prior agency sales success in PR/communications.
- Experience selling intangible, high-trust professional services during periods of client crisis or reputational challenge.
- Comfort leading remote/hybrid sales teams with national coverage.
